I cannot believe the rate that time passes by. I realize that I'm working on various projects but it takes so much energy to get things done, my writing and updating suffers..

Let me fill you up on what is new: I am trying my best to complete all unfinshed projects. As easy as that may sounf the main pronblem is that I start new ones at the drop of a hat. Inspiration knows no schedule. I am a slave to my own imagination.

I'll have some interesting things to show you soon so please don't wander far.

If you have any questions please feel free to drop me a note.

Up to my ankles in wood chips

I started planing down the hull of the Fraser River Tug Linda. It needs a fair bit of clean up to begin with. A sharp plane is the best tool. Once it's somewhat smooth I'll work on it with a sander.... and before you know it...... Epoxy time!

The beat goes on....

Work continues here in the snow... I've been working on this prototype hull... just finished the planking and lifted it off the building board.... She's kind of messy, but a little work with a plane, chisel, and sander.... she'll look sweet.

So we've decided to post some videos on the blog to show you the progress on some of the projects we have going at the moment.

These will be small video clips that point out details or allow you to see a model boat prototype under construction. Some of the clips will show boats that are being built for one of the books we have planned, while others are just to test the viability of the design.

That's it.... .on with the show

No time for boating....

In my neck of the woods this is the wrong time for boating... Maybe if you had an icebreaker at your disposal things would be better. But since I don't... no lake for me. Winter is the time for workshop activities. I seem to be up to my neck in projects. That's the way I like things. Once the glue is drying on one boat... I can use the time to jump over to the next one, and the next one, and the next one....Due to my limited work space I've set a build board up so that I can flip it and work on two projects in the same space.

A you can see I'm working on a Mahogany Runabout... and suspended beneath is a River Tug. The cardboard on the Runabout is just to give me an idea about the layout I want deck wise... I'll use the cardboard later as a template for the sub deck.

Ok back to work... I post a couple of pics to show the progress of things.
